Meet Lauren Ashly Suchecki

After moving to Gloucester more than thirty years ago, Lauren Suchecki quickly found her heart and home here. Known to many from her beloved store The Last Stop in East Gloucester, she ran the shop for ten years before trading retail for reel life—joining her husband Ted Suchecki in the movie industry.

Though she cherished that chapter, something was missing: the joy of being part of the community in a more personal, everyday way.

So when Animal Krackers closed its doors on Main St, Lauren saw an opportunity to blend two of her lifelong loves—Gloucester and animals—and Happy Tails Shoppe was born.

A proud rescue dog mom to Emma, Sophie, Tulia, and Captain Quint, Lauren understands how much our furry companions mean to us. That’s why Happy Tails Shoppe isn’t just about gifts (though you’ll find plenty of those, too!)—it’s about quality essentials from top brands, thoughtful finds for pets and the people who love them, and even a self-service dog wash to keep tails wagging.

Come say hello and sniff around—Happy Tails opened in October 2024 and is proud to be part of the Gloucester community.
